Young people support seniors

In the “Generation Project Grannysitting” course, knowledge in theory and practice is imparted, which distinguishes socially competent pupils and students for accompanying and supporting older people. The project is aimed at young people who want to get involved in health and is initiated and financed by the International Association for Healthy Aging (IAHA).

Adolescents from 13 years of age who are willing to engage with the topic of health and age. Participation in the course does not impose any further obligations. The course takes a total of 22 hours and can be attended as long as the young people have the will and willingness for social engagement. The costs are covered by the IAHA - the only expenses for the young people are 20.00 CHf for the ID. In return for free participation in the course, the student provides 7 hours of assistance for an elderly person. The person being cared for can come from the family or be referred by the IAHA
